Saskatchewan Walleye Trail (SWT)
Founded in 1993 and formally incorporated in 1997 under the Non-Profit Corporations Act, the Saskatchewan Walleye Trail (SWT) has built a proud legacy as one of the premier walleye tournament circuits in Western Canada. Rooted in community spirit, conservation, and a passion for competitive angling, SWT provides exceptional opportunities for anglers to test their skills across some of Saskatchewan’s finest fisheries.
The SWT is governed by an elected Board of Directors and Executive Committee, working closely with tournament organizers, volunteers, and sponsors to ensure each event meets the highest standards of professionalism, sportsmanship, and value for participants. Their collective efforts have helped establish a well-respected tournament trail that supports the growth of competitive fishing while fostering a lifelong love of the sport.
The Saskatchewan Walleye Trail is comprised of four premier events:
- Lake Diefenbaker Walleye Classic
- Regina Beach Walleye Tournament
- Saskatchewan Landing Walleye Tournament
- Last Mountain Fall Walleye Classic
Each of these locations offers anglers a chance to compete on elite fisheries renowned for producing incredible fishing experiences. These tournaments challenge anglers to adapt to a variety of lake conditions and fishing styles while promoting camaraderie, community involvement, and the stewardship of Saskatchewan’s natural resources.
SWT is deeply committed to making competitive fishing accessible and family-friendly. Reflecting this spirit, the organization proudly echoes the belief that “Fishing is something you can do as a family for a lifetime.” The SWT strives to create welcoming, inclusive environments where seasoned pros and first-time competitors alike feel at home.
Membership in the Saskatchewan Walleye Trail is open to all interested anglers, and new members are always encouraged to join the growing SWT community. Beyond competition, the SWT provides a hub for news, event updates, tournament results, and connections with fellow anglers throughout the province.
Through its enduring commitment to quality tournaments, community values, and the promotion of sustainable fishing practices, the Saskatchewan Walleye Trail continues to serve as a vital pillar of Saskatchewan’s outdoor recreation culture.
